- Virtually every JView related file has changed from previous
- betas. You must delete all previous files (yes even JView.dth), including
- slideshows that you have created.
-
- Aside from those bugs listed in the Bugs file, everything should
- be working here. Anything is fair game for comments, including
- dialog text being cutoff, spelling errors and general style comments.
- In the past I have seen comments like
- "... and you already know that Iconifying crashes ...".
- Well, I don't know this. If its not in the Bugs file, assume I
- don't know about the problem even if its obvious to you. Before
- you send a comment, check the Bugs file and also To_do.
-
- Any communication must be via email and should be to:
- Joe
- burkley@haas.berkeley.edu
-
- Unless the comment is style/spelling related,
- please include the type of computer you have - 486, Pentium, etc.
- The amount of RAM you have. If you are operating over a
- network. Any information about your graphics setup -
- the bit depth (8, 15, 16, 24), brand of graphics board,
- amount of graphics memory. If you have any kind of
- unusual setup - really large drive with lots of files in a single
- directory, etc.
-
- One last thing. JView uses temporary files that get placed in the
- directory that you have declared as tmp (your config.sys file should
- have something like SET TMP = C:\TMP). If JView crashes it may
- leave temporary files in this directory (they will always begin with
- JVW). They have write protection on and will require something
- like BlackHole to remove (or you will have to edit the settings of
- each file and set to read/write).
-
- Those who actively participate in finding bugs and providing feedback
- will be given discounts (possibly free) on the final version of JView.
- The size of the discount will be a judgement call on my part that
- depends on the quality of your feedback.
